If grinding your own meat, make sure there is enough fat in the meat. If meat is lean, add 1 tbsp olive oil to meat. Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit/180 degrees Celsius.
Put ground meat in a bowl. Add milk, garlic, onion, salt, pepper and egg. Mix just until combined. Do not over mix. Add just enough breadcrumbs so meat holds together. A few tablespoons should be enough.
Wet your hands. Take a tablespoon of the meat mixture and roll into a ball with one hand. Place balls on baking sheet. Use parchment paper for easy cleanup. Bake meatballs in heated oven for 15 minutes.
To make the sauce, put all of the below ingredients in a pan - Orange juice, water, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, sriracha and brown sugar. Stir and bring to a boil. Turn heat down to simmer. Add cooked meatballs to sauce. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until sauce is reduced. Turn flame off and serve with toothpicks.
I look forward to making this as well as the cream of mushroom soup. Thanks for the recipes and videos. Happy New Year.
Made this tonight and it’s another great recipe. I used ground turkey and served with basmati rice and your eggplant salad! Yum
Sounds like a good combo 🙂
