Instructions
- In a bowl, put 2 cups or 280g of all purpose flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 tsp coarse salt and, 4 tsps baking powder. Whisk well.
- Heat up 4 tbsps butter and 1.5 c/ 375ml whole milk until warm and butter is melted. Add 4 tbsps vegetable oil, 1 tsp vanilla extract and 2 large eggs. Beat well.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Mix well and set aside. I like to transfer the batter into a cup with a spout as it’s easier and neater to pour into the waffle maker.
- I wipe a little oil on the waffle maker before turning it on. Heat up your waffle maker. When the unit is heated, pour batter into waffle maker and cook according to waffle maker’s instructions. Mine is a large grill and I used 1 ⅓ cups of batter. The amount of batter you use depends on the size of your waffle maker.
- Steam will come out of the waffle maker when cooking. A sign that waffles are done is when you don’t see any more steam. They are golden brown. Crispy and tasty.
Recipe Notes
I love to serve these waffles with butter, fresh fruit and real maple syrup.
Why have you used coarse salt in this recipe?
Is it okay if we not used coarse salt or replace it with table salt in right proportion?
Hi, yes I used coarse salt. You can substitute table salt, use a little less 🙂
Can I use baking soda instead of powder, if so what’s the quantity
Hi, you can try using 1 tsp of baking soda. You will also need to add 1 tsp of lemon juice or vinegar in the recipe to make a reaction.
Hi, may i know 4 tbsps butter is equivalent to how many gram of butter?
Hi, 60 grams 😀
How long can i keep if i want to prepare it before.
A few hours 😀
can you mix all of the ingredients into 1 bowl instead of separating them into 2 separate bowls?
Hi
What is it you put to make waffle crispy?
Instead of milk can i use coconut milk?
Can i not put the veg oil?
I love crispy waffles😋
Appreciate your advice.
