Chili Garlic Shrimp Recipe
Chili Garlic Shrimp that's quick to make in under 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 lb or 1/2 Kg Shrimp
- 1/2 medium red onion
- 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger
- 1.5 tbsps fresh garlic
- 2 tbsps scallion
- 2 tbsps cilantro leaves
- 2 tbsps soy sauce
- 2 tbsps ketchup
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp hot chili sauce more to taste
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3 tbsps Vegetable Oil
Instructions
- Clean and wash the shrimp, set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, ketchup, rice wine vinegar, hot sauce and sugar. Set aside.
- Heat up a pan, I’m using my favorite cast iron wok. Add 3 tablespoons of oil.
- When the oil is hot, add the chopped onion and cook 1 minute.
- Add the ginger, cook 30 seconds and then add the garlic. Cook for a minute or two until soft and just golden, don’t let it brown. Add the sauce and cook 30 seconds.
- Add the shrimp and cook stirring often until they turn pink. The shrimp cook very quickly, in just a few minutes. When the shrimp are almost done, add the scallions. Now the shrimp are cooked, add the cilantro and mix.
Notes
This is a dish everyone loves to eat because it’s ok to get messy and eat with your hands. Kids love it too, maybe without the heads! I hope you try this as it is so easy and tasty.
