- 1 cup/113g All Purpose Flour
- 1 cup/113g cornmeal
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 large Eggs
- 1/3 cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 cup/250ml milk
Heat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 205 degrees Celsius.
To a bowl, add all purpose flour, cornmeal, salt, baking powder, mix well and add sugar. Mix well.
To another bowl, add oil, milk, eggs and beat well.
Pour wet ingredients over dry ingredients. Mix gently until just combined. Do not over mix.
Butter an 8 x 8 baking pan if using recipe to cut into squares and eat as is. Use 9 x 13 if using for stuffing, so cornbread will bake faster. Pour batter into pan and cook in heated oven for 12-20 minutes depending on pan. Cool on a wire rack.
