First, heat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Wash and pat dry chicken wings with paper towels. Put them in a bowl. Sprinkle on ½ tsp coarse salt, ½ tsp ground black pepper, ½ tsp garlic powder and ½ tsp onion powder. Clean hands are the perfect tool for making sure all the wings are evenly coated with the spices.
Place the wings on a baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes in the heated 425 degree oven.
To a saucepan, add all the Sauce ingredients listed above. Cook this on low heat for 15 minutes stirring occasionally. After 15 minutes, taste and add more salt or sugar to your liking. Set the sauce aside to cool.
The chicken wings are ready to be turned over after 25 minutes. Use a steel spatula to get under the wings and turn them over cleanly. Cook for another 20 t0 25 minutes until crispy on the other side. The wings are ready and crispy.
Put the wings in a wide pan and pour ¾ cup of the sauce over them. Cook on medium low so the sauce bubbles and coats the wings thoroughly and almost caramelizes, takes about 2 mins. Now the wings are ready to serve. They are perfect just like this, serve extra sauce on the side if you like.
