  1. Boil water and add oats. Stir and cook for 4 minutes. Add chopped apples, salt and cinnamon. Stir, cover and cook for 2 minutes. Add more water if necessary. When apples are starting to get soft, lower heat and add brown sugar and dates. Stir and add pecans. Serve immediately.
