- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Heat oven to 325 F/163C. Whisk flour, baking soda and salt.
In a large bowl, cream melted butter with white and brown sugars. Add vanilla, eggs and beat until creamy. Add flour mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.
Scoop dough using ice cream scooper, roll into balls and place 6 on a baking sheet (1/2 sheet tray). Bake in the middle of the heated oven for approximately 15 minutes until edges are pale golden. Remove from oven, set tray on a cooling rack and leave for about 2 minutes until firm enough to remove.
Remaining dough can be wrapped and chilled if you wish. Chilled dough will take a few more minutes to cook.
