Heat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit or 232 degrees Celsius.
Peel and cut potatoes into wedges.
Put cut potatoes in a bowl and add 2 tablespoons oil, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp turmeric and the chili powder if you want heat. Mix well.
Place potatoes in a single layer on an oiled baking sheet.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes in the heated oven. Turn each piece over and cook for another 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
